Mountain Road polls 8th for best drive in the world

Thu, 18 Sep 2014

The Isle of Man has ranked highly in a major poll carried out by the National Geographic magazine.

The Snaefell Mountain Road was voted number eight in the top 10 best drives in the world.

The article highlights how the 15 mile route between Douglas and Ramsey is one of the few areas in the British territories with no national speed limit.

National Geographic is one of the most popular magazines in the world, selling millions of copies per issue.

Already this year the Tourism Division estimates it's amassed over £4 million worth of free advertising off the back of favourable write ups and TV features.
