Man who assaulted pub landlord to be sentenced in December

A Maughold man who assaulted a pub landlord after an argument with his girlfriend will be sentenced in December.

33-year-old Ian Brown has pleaded guilty to one count of assault causing actual bodily harm.

He punched the licensee of the Mines Tavern in Laxey in the face - the force of which knocked him to the ground and injured his ribs.

Social enquiry reports have been requested and the Deemster will review CCTV of the incident ahead of sentencing on December 17th.

The case has been adjourned until then - Mr Brown has been bailed.
