Parking charges are another "nail in retail coffin"

Tue, 28 Oct 2014

Douglas Council says new parking charges in the capital are "another nail in the retail coffin".

It says it's totally opposed to plans to charge people to park on the walkway and to reduce the time limits on disc zone parking.

The Douglas Development Partnership is of a similar opinion and says retailers have expressed concern that this could drive trade away from town in the Christmas trading period.
