Elderly woman robbed in broad daylight

Police are investigating after a man robbed an elderly woman in broad daylight in Douglas.

It happened at around 12pm on Sunday on Tennis Road - the man approached the woman from behind and snatched her purse.

The lady, who chased the man a short distance, was not physically injured but was left shaken.

Police say they have arrested someone in connection with this - he is now on police bail.
