Douglas cobbler died from acute alcohol intoxication

A cobbler from Douglas who was found dead at his home died after drinking too much.

Police found 32-year-old Thomas Coll at his flat on Woodbourne Road on November 1st.

Yesterday the inquest into his death was opened at Douglas Courthouse.

The court heard he was found lying on the stairs with a head injury - the post mortem concluded the cause of death as acute alcoholic intoxication.

Coroner of Inquests John Needham released the body so that funeral arrangements can take place - the inquest has been adjourned to a date to be fixed.
