Takeaway teenager fined for being drunk and disorderly

Fri, 19 Dec 2014

A teenager from Peel has been told he has "one more chance" after being found asleep in a takeaway.

19-year-old Adam Smith appeared at Douglas Courthouse yesterday where he pleaded guilty to one offence of being drunk and incapable.

Police were called to the Marmaris takeaway in Douglas by staff at around 1:50am on December 6th.

They found him asleep and slumped over - he had urinated over himself and on the floor around him.

Officers described him as "completely incapable of looking after himself" and could only wake him by applying pressure to his ear.

Representing him his advocate said he was embarrassed to be in court and appreciated that this sort of behaviour had to stop.

Smith was fined £200 and ordered to pay costs of £125 - the Magistrates warned him he had one last chance as they wouldn't be as lenient in the future.
