Island placed on red weather warning

The Island has been placed on a red weather warning - with severe conditions due to cause disruption.

It will hit this evening and for most of tomorrow with gale force and storm force winds expected.

Heavy rain is likely to lead to minor localised flooding with gusts of 65 to 75 miles per hour set to cause travel difficulties and some damage.

Wind speeds could reach 80 miles per hour tomorrow which could cause structural damage in places.
