"Volatile" prices blamed for no drop in energy prices

Manx Gas says it couldn't have predicted a drop in the price of energy because historically energy prices have been "extremely volatile".

Tanya Humbles has the story:

The company has already brought its energy stock for this year - meaning Island customers won't benefit from price drops being seen across the United Kingdom.

It was done in an effort to stop tariffs changing regularly - however this was before market prices fell meaning customers will stay locked into current prices for the rest of the year.

The Chief Minister says he's now keeping a close eye on the issue as he believes the public should be saving money:
