Assisted suicide campaigner brands vote outcome 'appalling'

Do MHK's truly take into account the views of their constituents?

That's the question which has been raised this week following a failed bid to introduce new legislation on allowing assisted suicide.

The contentious issue had received widespread public support and backing on our Facebook page.

However Rushen MHK Juan Watterson's bill was voted against with a general consensus to wait and monitor progress in the UK.

Mike Pridham's wife Cathy opted to take her life last year when faced with aggressive terminal cancer - he says it would have been a different situation had there been assisted dying laws in place:
