DEFA Minister wants more voluntary sector involvement

The budget prompts a greater need for voluntary sector involvement in government.

That's according to Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister Richard Ronan - who says his department is actively looking to work with more non-government organisations.

DEFA has been given a budget of £15.7 million for 2015/16 after taking responsibility for the Health and Safety at Work Inspectorate.

The figure marks a 0.8 per cent increase on last year.
