Education budgets slashed at prison

The education budget for the Isle of Man Prison has been significantly slashed in the last five years.

Money spent on tutors and education managers has been reduced from £225,000 to £121,000 - with the funds set aside for equipment and materials reduced to just £7000.

The revelation was made in the House of Keys earlier this week following a question from Onchan MHK Zac Hall.

He says it goes against government's ethos of prisoner rehabilitation:
