Fraud Investigation: Two more arrests in Guernsey

Tue, 31 Mar 2015

Another two arrests have been made in Guernsey as part of Operation Bannock - an ongoing multi-jurisdiction investigation into £21 million of VAT and money laundering fraud.

The two men were arrested upon arrival in Guernsey from the Isle of Man yesterday morning and have now been released on police bail.

Four men and three women were also arrested two weeks ago in a joint effort by the constabulary here, HM Revenue and Customs, Cheshire Constabulary, the National Crime Agency and Guernsey Law Enforcement.

It followes news that almost £1 million in cash was seized from UK addresses after 13 searches.

Inquiries are ongoing - we'll keep you up to date as more information becomes available.
