Planning permission sought to build on former holiday camp

Tue, 07 Jul 2015

Planning permission could be granted to build on the site of the former Isle of Man Holiday Camp.

A proposal has been put forward by Isle of Man Enterprises PLC to erect four office units on Victoria Road in Douglas.

The camp, which was formally known as Cunningham's, was founded in 1904 - in September 1914 it became an internment camp.

All of the buildings which formed part of the development have since been demolished and removed - the application is now pending consideration.
