RNLI to teach Manx children swim safety

Children who live on the Isle of Man must learn to swim in the sea.

That's the message from the RNLI which has organised open water swimming sessions for seven to 14 year-olds - they start tomorrow and run until the 7th.

The 40-minute sessions are free and look at beach safety, indoor pool safety and swimming in open water with help from lifeguards in Peel.

Pippa Hare is the coastal safety product manager - she says open water can be unpredictable so it's important youngsters here are safety conscious:
