Local nurse to stand in Douglas East by-election

A local nurse has declared her intention to stand as an MHK in Douglas East.

31-year-old Clare Bettison wants to fill the seat left vacant following the resignation of MHK Brenda Cannell.

Clare has lived on the Island for eight years and says her time working at Noble's Hospital has highlighted problems within the Health Service.
