Decision not to scrap EU roaming charges challenged

Manx residents are questioning the decision to steer clear of scrapping EU roaming charges.

The Island's telecommunications companies aren't planning to ditch additional charges for calls, texts and internet browsing - despite new regulations coming in in 2017.

Diane says we only appear to be a part of the EU when it 'suits' - whilst Gary resolves that there aren't any other providers so at least Manx Telecom and Sure are 'happy'.

David had a message for government - he says he's baffled that bills are so high for people visiting the Island, as it has a direct effect on the tourism sector.

Paul's daughter is at university he says he's paying for her UK contract phone - which is significantly higher than his Manx deal at half of the cost.

Chairman of the Communications Commission Juan Watterson has said it's a price we pay for choosing to live outside of the EU.
