Proposed sewerage charge hike branded "unfair"

The proposed sewerage charge hike is to the detriment of struggling consumers.

That's according to Liberal Vannin leader Kate Beecroft.

Tynwald will be asked to approve an increase from 62 pence to 92 pence in the pound for services to commence from April next year.

The Manx Utilities Authority commissioned a report, which revealed that the Island's sewerage charging system reflects systems in other countries.

Mrs Beecroft says it's a tall ask from MUA chairman Alf Cannan:
