Work starts on multi-million pound sewage plant

£6 million is being spent regenerating the Northern Sewerage Treatment Plant.

It's part of an operational upgrade to the sewerage system Island-wide starting with Ramsey's facility, which is currently at capacity - hindering plans to develop the area.

It's hoped the plans will stop the pumping of raw matter into Ramsey Bay - which can be seen easily due to the number of seagulls in the spillage area.

Works at Balladoole should be completed by the spring of 2017 - Chief Minister, and Ramsey MHK, Allan Bell says it comes at a good time:
