Unemployment rises over October

Unemployment on the Island has risen with 774 people out of work.

Figures show there was an increase in those out of work in October - despite this it is the lowest October figure in four years.

Almost 200 people signed on to the unemployment register during the month and there were 665 vacancies notified to the Job Centre.

69 per cent of those not working are men.
