Minister tells producers supermarket presence is "two-sided"

Efforts to increase the amount of money the Island's food and drink industry generates have to be "two-sided".

That's according to the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture which has appointed a new food business development manager.

Ex- Tesco employee Andrew Lees will help deliver the Food Matters Strategy - however Minster Richard Ronan says that doesn't give us an automatic buy in to the retailer.

Concerns have been raised in the past about the lack of Manx produce available on many supermarket shelves - Mr Ronan says the industry itself has to help change that:
