Island charities being protected against terrorists

Charities on the Island are being protected against abuse by those who finance terrorism.

The Financial Supervision Authority is looking at the processes and procedures of 11 Manx-based charities to ensure they aren't being misused by criminals.

Anti-money laundering manager Dan Johnson says of 700 charities, those were chosen due to the distribution of moneys raised.

He explains why not-for-profit organisations are being targeted:
