Festive revellers advised against excessive drinking

Revellers are being urged to consider the harmful effects of excessive drinking as emergency services staff gear up for their busiest time of the year. 

Almost half of all arrests made by police during the festive period last year were related to alcohol.

It's a substance which can substantially affect people's judgements and increase risk taking behaviour - leading people to be disorderly, incapable and indecent.

The Department of Health and Social Care is involved in this year's "Drink Safe, Drive Safe, Go Safe" campaign.
