OFT clears up cold calling legislation for MHKs

'There's no standard procedure on cold calling - because there's no standard case'.

That's the clear message from the Office of Fair Trading chairman in his letter to MHKs to clarify details on the Consumer Protection (amendment) Bill.

It states that the approach to each respective case and the level of inter-agency co-operation required will be tailored to the circumstances.
