Calf candidates warned it's no '9-5' job

Candidates who've applied to live and work on the Calf of Man have been warned they will need to be "self-sufficient".

Applications for the positions of ornithology and estate warden closed yesterday - the posts run from March to November.

Wardens will be responsible for monitoring the 33 species of birds which breed each year as well as habitat management. 

Director Edmund Southworth says the island - which is one square mile in size - certainly isn't for everyone:
