MHK says omitting LegCo from Chief Minister elections is "simple"

Plans to omit the Legislative Council from electing future Chief Ministers have taken a step forward.

Michael MHK Alf Cannan moved to introduce a 'Private Member's Bill' in the House of Keys this week.

It's being requested that the word 'Tynwald' be replaced with 'House of Keys' - Douglas West MHK Chris Thomas says it's more complicated that it seems.

The idea is to insert more democracy into the system by ensuring the vote goes to MHKs elected by the public - Mr Cannan says it's that simple:
