Near 'devastating' rubbish fire prompts safety advice

Take rubbish to the civic amenity sites - don't burn it without notifying he Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service.

That's according to the chief fire officer - his concerns follow a near 'devastating' fire at the weekend, when high winds blew a small blaze toward two plastic oil tanks.

The homeowner left it unattended in Port-E-Vullen - it spread to a garage close to the containers before being extinguished by firefighters.
