Pregnant woman remanded after heroin seizure

Wed, 17 Feb 2016

A pregnant woman from Port Erin who’s accused of importing heroin to the Isle of Man has been remanded in prison.

33-year-old Louise Creer appeared at Douglas Courthouse this morning – she’s been charged with production of Class A and possession of Class A with intent to supply.

Police arrested her at the Sea Terminal in Douglas at 5.40am last Wednesday suspecting she was concealing drugs internally.

She was charged with the offences yesterday after spending six days at Noble’s Hospital – the drugs, which need to be forensically tested, are alleged to be heroin with a street value of £8,500.

An application for bail was refused – she will next appear in court on February 23rd.
