No 'blank cheque' for Island's health service

Treasury says it cannot write a "blank cheque" to fund the Isle of Man health service - but has upped its budget to nearly £200 million.

This week it revealed it's put an additional £17 million aside for the Department of Health and Social Care.

Minister Howard Quayle has welcomed the move but says there are still "significant fiscal challenges" and overspending is "largely beyond its control".

He says it's difficult to keep costs down:
