Manx jury trials safe from external influence

Jury trials on the Isle of Man are not at risk of being 'thrown' by outsiders trying to influence jurors.

That's according to MHK Chris Robertshaw - he's chairing a Tynwald Select Committee which is putting the operation of the jury system under the spotlight.

Concerns have been raised that jury's here could be targeted because they're smaller - with seven people in the majority of cases - and require a unanimous verdict.

However, director of prosecutions Richard Butters says he's confident it isn't a problem:
