Thousands spent on revamping Derbyhaven flying club

Around £9,000 of taxpayers' money has been spent revamping the old flying club building in Derbyhaven.

That's the admission from the Infrastructure Minister who says it's been spent on essential rewiring and minor plumbing work.

The Department of Infrastructure recently put the building out for commercial tender - it's now been transformed into a café and bar.

The new tenant has paid for the rest of the refurbishment works - Phil Gawne says government's spend will end up paying for itself:
