16 FOI requests made in first month

Tue, 08 Mar 2016

16 requests have been made since new Freedom of Information laws were brought in on the Isle of Man.

Between February 1st and the 24th both the Cabinet Office and the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture received requests.

The department fielded queries on health and safety breaches and poor workmanship, planning applications in Crosby and issues with dredging at Peel Marina.

The Cabinet Office took questions on data protection, beneficial ownership and the number of prisoners held at the Isle of Man Prison.

Each application is logged on the government website as part of a disclosure log with responses given within 20 days - it's expected Freedom of Information will be rolled out fully by 2018.
