Tributes after death of Ramsey commissioner

Fri, 08 Apr 2016

A commissioner from Ramsey - and candidate in the upcoming local authority election - has died.

Christopher Mayers, who was due to stand for the Ramsey North Ward, died today.

The chairman of Ramsey Town Commissioners has paid tribute to him saying he was an "enthusiastic and dedicated member" since his election last year and took "great pride" in his role.

As a result of Mr Mayers' death the election in the ward has been 'countermanded' meaning the remaining six candidates have been elected to serve from May 1st.
