MHK calls for protection for whistleblowers

Whistleblowers working in the care sector should be given more freedom to report injustice:

That's according to Onchan MHK Peter Karran who wants to protect informants by introducing a clause in the new National Health and Care Service Bill 2016.

He wants failure to alert authorities to abuse in care facilities to become an offence - it's also suggested that witnesses shouldn't be penalised for speaking out.

The Bill will work its way through the House of Keys tomorrow - Mr Karran explains his position:
