Alleged drugs to be tested before case progresses

Wed, 20 Apr 2016

Forensic testing has begun on substances which were found on a Peel man who was arrested at Ronaldsway Airport.

29-year-old Matthew Prendergast appeared at Douglas Courthouse, via live video link from the Isle of Man Prison, yesterday.

The Peel man has been charged with production of cocaine and possession of the Class A drug with intent to supply.

Police arrested him on April 9th after he got off a flight from Liverpool - the alleged drugs, which were concealed internally, had a street value of almost £6,000.

A four week adjournment was requested whilst the analysis is completed - there was no application for bail and he was remanded until his next court appearance on May 17th.
