Unfinished radar system 'best deal' government has struck

Fri, 29 Apr 2016

Having a radar at Ronaldsway Airport which doesn't meet Civil Aviation Authority requirements is 'one of the best deals government has ever struck'.
That's the view of the Infrastructure Minister who says because the company contracted to install it still hasn't finished it's paying the penalty.
Concerns had been raised after the radar was taken out of service for maintenance last month - however due to three other radars still in place the airport was able to remain operational.
