Suspended sentence for man caught with cannabis in kitchen

Tue, 03 May 2016

A Douglas man who was caught hoarding thousands of pounds of cannabis in his kitchen has been handed a suspended prison sentence.

Police raided 23-year-old Liam Bradley's home in Anagh Coar at 8.45am on March 16th whilst he was asleep upstairs.

They found cannabis with a street value of £2,900 behind the cupboard as well as drug paraphernalia including two sets of weighing scales and four mobile phones.

A number of electrical devices were also found which the prosecution said showed he was "living beyond his means" as he was unemployed and on benefits at the time.

Bradley later pleaded guilty to possession of the Class B substance with intent to supply and two charges of possession.

At Douglas Courthouse last week he was sentenced to 24-weeks in prison which has been suspended for two years - he will also be under a probation order for 12 months.
