Driving licence address change sparks complaints

Complaints have been made about the fact that new driving licences being issued on the Isle of Man no longer contain address details.
 
Ramsey MHK Leonard Singer is unhappy that businesses, and the public, weren't consulted before the Department of Infrastructure changed the system. 
 
It says the licence is simply to show the holder is competent to drive a vehicle and is not designed to be proof of address - adding that it's fully compatible with European standards.
 
In Tynwald last week Minister Phil Gawne told the MHK if he was that concerned he shouldn't have signed off the proposals in the first place:
