Teens rescued by coastguard after jumping into the sea

Wed, 25 May 2016

Two teenagers were rescued by Peel Coastguard on Monday night after getting stuck behind Peel Castle.

The team was called out to locate and safely recover two teens who'd jumped into the sea - they'd tried to climb up the rocks but found themselves stuck and unable to find a safe route back.

On arrival a crew member entered the water and found them a better route to safety - the two were cold but unharmed.

The coastguard is now reminding people not to jump from rocks or cliffs into the sea without a safe exit plan.
