Commital delayed for man facing seven rape charges

Wed, 08 Jun 2016

Committal proceedings against a St Johns man who's accused of seven counts of rape have been delayed.

45-year-old William Kelly appeared at Douglas Courthouse yesterday where he was due to be committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery.

He's been charged with 14 offences which include assault causing actual bodily harm, indecent assault, common assault and conduct amounting to harassment.

They allegedly relate to two victims and happened between April 2013 and April this year.

The prosecutor told the court more time is needed before committal can take place - there was no application for bail and he was remanded at the Isle of Man Prison until June 21st.
