Tynwald asked to approve eight million for new care home

£8.1 million of taxpayers' money could be spent on buying a brand new care home in Douglas. 
 
The Department of Health and Social Care will ask Tynwald to approve the plan for the building on Sailsbury Street next week.
 
The home, which is being built and sold by a private company, will have 68 beds - the department says it will address the lack of affordable nursing home places on the Island. 
 
Minister Howard Quayle says he thinks it makes good business sense:
