Hundreds join memorial lap to pay tribute to sidecar racer

Hundreds of members of the Island's motorbike community turned out yesterday to pay tribute to a sidecar racer who was killed in the TT.

They took part in a lap of the Mountain Course to pay respect to 27-year-old Dwight Beare - the Australian rider died during the first sidecar race following a crash at Rhencullen.

Dwight moved from Australia to the Island a few years ago to pursue his passion for racing.

Yesterday friends, family and bikers gathered at The Grandstand before following Dwight as he made his final lap:
