Injured walker airlifted to safety

Thu, 14 Jul 2016

The Air Ambulance was called out last night to assist an injured walker.
At 5.20pm the Peel coastguard was alerted to a walker who had slipped and broken their ankle on a coastal footpath near Eary Cushlin.
On arrival at the scene it was decided that the location was too far and difficult to perform a carry out so the helicopter medivac was requested - when the HM coastguard arrived a winch man was lowered, made the casualty comfortable and secure before he was lifted to safety and flown to Nobles Hospital for treatment.
