Injured war veterans visit Island as part of rehabilitation

Thu, 14 Jul 2016

Seven injured war veterans are visiting the Island to watch the Southern 100.

The group have all had limb amputations as a result of injuries sustained while serving in the British Army - this visit is a chance for them to rehabilitate away from a medical setting.

They've been watching the races as well as taking some trikes and bikes out for rides around the Island.

Veteran Jeff Winder says it's important for them to get out with other people in a similar position and experience life again:
