Britain's first war pensions committee marks 100 years

The first War Pensions Committee to ever be formed in the British Isles has marked its 100th anniversary.

The Isle of Man was the first place to set up a body to help veterans at the height of the First World War in 1916.

A celebration for the committee on Friday was attended by the Chief Minister. 

Veterans' welfare manager Caroline Beattie says whilst the support started during World War One it's still as important today:
