Firefighters tackle six hour field fire

Mon, 08 Aug 2016

Firefighters spent six hours tackling a field fire in St Judes yesterday.

Crews from Ramsey and Kirk Michael attended the area at around 1.20pm.

It's believed the owner had been burning grass to clear the field but it had spread down into the roots of the vegetation and took hold.

Two 'fire foggers' were used - the trailer system incorporates a water tank and high pressure water jet to provide greater penetration into the vegetation.
