Guilty plea from teen who ordered drugs from Netherlands

Wed, 10 Aug 2016

A teenager from Douglas has admitted ordering ecstasy from the Netherlands after his parcel was stopped by customs.

17-year-old Callum O'connor appeared at Douglas Courthouse yesterday where he pleaded guilty to one charge of production of Class A drugs.

Customs officers intercepted the package - destined for O'connor's home - at the Isle of Man Post Office on May 23rd.

It contained 20 red and pink tablets in the shape of a skull - police arrested the teen and he gave a no comment interview before admitting to his appropriate adult they were 'real ecstasy'.

The tablets, which O'connor said he'd bought for £2 each, were forensically tested which confirmed they were MDMA with a street value of between £200 and £300.

O'conner was committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery for sentence - he's been bailed until his first appearance there on Friday.
