Festivalgoers arrested for bail breach

Wed, 14 Sep 2016

Two Douglas men were arrested for breaching their bail conditions while attempting to leave the Island to go to a music festival.

Emanuel Jay Kaneen of Switzerland Road and Davis Keith Taylor of Palentine Road, both 21, boarded the Ben-my-Chree last Thursday in a bid to travel to Bestival in the Isle of Wight.

The pair were charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent earlier this year, and were granted bail on the condition that they don't leave the Island without seeking permission beforehand.

Magistrates heard that the trip had been a last-minute decision for the duo, having only secured tickets the night before traveling.

The two men have been allowed to continue their bail but were denied permission to leave the Island and warned about further breaches.
