Promenade resurfacing to begin this month

Wed, 02 Nov 2016

Work to resurface some sections of the promenade in Douglas will get underway later this month.

Parking will be suspended and a 10mph temporary speed limit put in place between Castlemona Avenue and the Palace Hotel from November 18th.

A second stage will take place from The Palace to the junction at the bottom of Summerhill from November 26th, with the work due to be finished by December 4th.

Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer said in last month's sitting of Tynwald that the northern section of the road was in need of urgent repair.

It's expected that plans for the rest of the promenade will go before Tynwald in the next couple of months.
