Mount Rule Road was one of a number of areas affected by falling trees overnight.

The police are urging those using the Island's roads this morning to take care after rain and gale force winds hit overnight.

The Isle of Man Constabulary and Department of Infrastructure have been dealing with reports of trees down, areas of standing water and debris on roads around the Island overnight.

Conditions are starting to improve, but there are still patches of snow and sleet on the Mountain Road, while winds reaching gale force eight continue to be forecast for this morning.
