Parking over Christmas will be discussed again when the House of Keys sits this week.

Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper will ask Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer to consider changing time restrictions in disc zones to encourage more people to shop locally.

Discs can be used for free on-street parking in most of the Island's towns, but spaces closest to shops often have shorter time limits.

Last week the Minister confirmed additional parking on the promenade walkway in Douglas will be a two-hour disc zone during the run up to Christmas.

Some retailers were unhappy last year when the walkway spaces were made pay and display, fearing it would put people off shopping locally.
